Good summary - love the wine recommendations. There are some better beers to choose however, what about a nice Pilsner or hoppy pale ale for crab with spicy sauce. Would love to see a post on microbrews in the Chesapeake Bay region that pair well with crab dishes - maybe food for thought? (or drink for thought)

Great blog! I haven’t met a beer yet that didn’t go with steamed crabs! I do enjoy a Shiraz with my crab cake– of course I only eat crab cakes when I’m on the Eastern Shore of Maryland… not here in Florida!

You have to go beer when your eating steamed crabs, steamed shrimp or crab cakes. Also I enjoy water with lemon as well, some steamed crabs are overloaded with Old Bay..too much salt kills the subtle crab taste. Thanks for the great post. -The Crab Cake Guy
